This is a very rare hand signed plaque signed by Jack Swigert, Fred Haise and Jim Lovell. The plaque is mounted with several original photos from the Apollo 13 mission. The piece was given to Sir Arthur Porrit who was the Governor General of New Zealand at the time of the mission.
There is an inscription written by Fred Haise which reads
“To his excellency the Governor General Sir Arthur Porrit with admiration and friendship the Apollo 13 crew”
It is very rare to have all three signatures on one piece, let alone these original photos and hand written by one of the three astronauts.
We have reframed the item and added a museum mount, though we have left the original photos and inscription.
Apollo 13 was the seventh manned mission in the American Apollo space program and the third intended to land on the Moon. The craft was launched on April 11, 1970, at 13:13 CST from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, but the lunar landing was aborted after an oxygen tank exploded two days later, crippling the service module upon which the Command Module depended. Despite great hardship caused by limited power, loss of cabin heat, shortage of potable water, and the critical need to jury-rig the carbon dioxide removal system, the crew returned safely to Earth on April 17.
The flight was commanded by James A. Lovell with John L. "Jack" Swigert as Command Module pilot and Fred W. Haise as Lunar Module pilot. Swigert was a late replacement for the original CM pilot Ken Mattingly, who was grounded by the flight surgeon after exposure to German measles.

Your signed photo is mounted onto Kapa Foam board to ensure they stay flat within the frame. A soft white card window mount is then expertly bevel cut to the size of your print. The window mount’s outside dimensions fit within the appropriate size frame.
The mounted print, window mount and glass are then sandwiched within the frame, sealed from behind with a backing sheet and appropriate fixings attached so that your framed image is ready to hang.
